MRS. Elizabeth Wyns-Dogbe – Managing Director

Dogbe Elizabeth resizeElizabeth Wyns-Dogbe is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) UK. She has fifteen years (15) experience in insurance and risk management. She started her insurance career with KEK Insurance Brokers’ Ltd, a leading insurance brokerage and consultancy firm in Ghana and the local representatives of Aon Plc. For several years, she worked with a team of both local and international Engineers and Insurers who restructured and managed the risk management and insurance programs of Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) and some other energy and mining companies in Ghana.

Elizabeth is skilled in both life and non-life insurance business with strength and strategic modelling to provide company direction, technical insurance operations, strategic business development, bancassurance partnerships and mobile insurance development and implementation.

She spearheaded the design and implementation of one of Ghana’s first mobile micro-insurance products; the MTN MiLife Insurance which could be bought, managed and claimed all through the mobile money wallet.

She was also key in the partnership between UT Life Insurance, Vodafone Ghana, Bima, Millennium Insurance and USAIDs’ sustainable fisheries management project to design and develop insurance solutions for fisher folks along the coast of Ghana with the aim of expanding financial inclusion to the underserved. She was part of strategic decision making and restructuring and driving of UT Life Insurance to its current feat. Before her appointment as Managing Director, she was the General Manager, Operations at UT Life Insurance Company Limited.

She is strategic, innovative and analytical with critical thinking skills and has good interpersonal and communication skills. She is also assertive, passionate and very results-oriented with strong internal locus of control. She has extensive training in leadership and corporate governance and exhibits more participatory and transformational leadership skills.

Elizabeth holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration (Finance option) from the Central University College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Material Science and Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. She is also a fellow of the Boardroom Institute and a Senior Fellow of the African Good Governance Initiative. She is also the Publicity Director of the Chartered Insurance Ladies Association of Ghana (CILAG).
She has advanced Diplomas in Insurance from the CII and Ghana Insurance College. She also possesses Certificate in Life Underwriting, Disability and Critical Illness from the CII and a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors, UK. She has training from Crestcom International on their one-year bullet-proof management series program.

Elizabeth is also a Reverend Minister with Jesus Generation Ministries. She has been in active Christian ministry since 2004 and has a PHD in Theology from Immanuel Bible Institute and Seminary, Brooklyn, USA.

Mr. Kwaku Appiah-Menka II - Deputy Managing Director (Business Dev't)

Mr. Kwaku Appiah-Menka II joined SIC Life Company Limited in November 2017, with vast experience in Finance, Banking, Investment, Marketing, Sales and Research.

Prior to his appointment with SIC Life Company Limited, he worked in an executive management position as Group Chief Operations Officer at Appiah Menka Complex Limited, Ashanti Oil Mills and Apino Oil Palm Plantations Limited.

Mr. Appiah-Menka II started his career with Turner (CNN) International, London in 1996 as a Sales and Research Intern in the Marketing Division and moved to Standard Corporate & Merchant Bank, Johannesburg in 1998 as a Project Finance Intern with the Emerging Markets Division.

He later worked with Barclays Bank, Accra from 1998 to 2001 as a Dealer, Money Markets where he gained experience in intensive financial analysis in currency trading and settlement, securities and investment analysis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Manchester, England and a Masters of Business Administration from the Goizueta Business School, Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia.

Mr. Ralph Agbeko - Chief Finance Officer

ralphMr. Ralph Kwaku Agbeko joined SIC Life Company Limited in January 2011 with vast experience in Accounting, Finance, Treasury and Investment Management.  

Prior to his appointment with SIC Life Company Limited, he worked in an executive management position as Chief Finance Officer at Quality Insurance Company and has over eleven years experience in the insurance industry.

Mr. Agbeko started his finance career with REDCO Limited in 1981 as the Costing Officer and moved to the Ghana Cocoa Board in 1982 as Accounts Officer. He later worked with Ghana National Procurement Agency (GNPA) from 1984 – 1986 as the Assistant Internal Auditor before joining SG-SSB Limited from 1986 to 1998 where he gained extensive middle-level experience in Treasury and Investment Management.

He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) and holds a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Ghana Business School. He serves on the following Boards; SIC- Financial Services Limited and CFC Savings and Loans Limited, a subsidiary of Bayport Financial Services Limited.

Mrs. Vera Kate Haizel-Cobbina - Chief Operations Officer

Mrs. Vera Kate Haizel-Cobbina is a Chartered Insurer with over Twenty Five (25) years’ experience in insurance marketing and operations. She is currently the Chief Operations Officer of SIC Life Company Limited, a company she joined in November, 2015. Prior to joining SIC Life Company Limited, she was the Chief Technical Operations Officer for Glico Life Insurance Company, a company she worked for Twenty-Four (24) years.

Vera is a self-motivated career-oriented person, with needed experience in service operations and marketing. She is also an innate organiser, innovative, full of initiative and drive. She possesses strong interpersonal skills and has the ability to build relationships, motivate and mentor people. These qualities earned her the opportunity to be part of the transition team, which successfully off-shored the British Gas Strategic Team to India when she was working at SIEMENS Energy Services in the UK. Her gratification is seeing her team members rewarded.

Vera’s selflessness, meticulousness, truthfulness coupled with high professionalism have chalked her a lot of success in her career. Her astute problem solving skills, led to her appointment as the Chief Marketing Operations Officer – (Individual Life) for Glico Life, when the marketing department was at the verge of collapse in 2013. During this period, her ingenuity, gave birth to the “Insurance Clinic” concept, which has now become a marketing paradigm for all the insurance companies in Ghana.

Vera has expertise in life insurance risk assessment, underwriting, claims and reinsurance negotiations. She was part of the team that prepared a Five-Year-Strategic-Plan for Glico Life, which was adopted in May 2015. Her passion for Information Technology is very enormous; this earned her the opportunity to coordinate affairs when Glico Life was adopting a new software; LifeLine in the year 2000 and subsequently SLAMS in 2011. Her know-how in life insurance operations and interest in Information Technology has led to a massive positive transformation in the operations of SIC Life since she joined the company.

Vera serves on a number of committees of the Ghana Insurers Association. She holds a Master of Business Administration Degree in Risk and Insurance from the University of Nottingham (UK), Bachelor of Arts and Diploma in Education from the University of Cape Coast, and an Associate Member of the Chartered Insurance Institute (UK). She has attended a lot of international conferences in different countries.
